Before your interior painting project begins, move small items and valuables away from walls, take down wall hangings and photos, and clear countertops in the rooms being painted. Grove Street Painting in Sarasota handles all heavy furniture moving, floor protection, and masking as part of your project scope -- you do not need to empty rooms completely.
Here is a simple checklist to prepare your home. Remove fragile items like vases, picture frames, and electronics from surfaces near walls. Take down curtains and blinds if they are easy to remove. Clear bathroom countertops and medicine cabinets if those rooms are being painted. Move vehicles out of the garage if interior access routes pass through it. Secure pets in a room that is not being painted on the first day.
Your crew handles the rest. We move and cover furniture with protective sheeting, lay canvas drop cloths over all flooring, mask trim and fixtures, and protect light switches and outlets. At the end of each day, we do a nightly cleanup so your home stays livable throughout the project.
If you have specific concerns about antiques, mounted televisions, or built-in shelving, mention them during your walkthrough so we can plan around them. Learn more about our interior painting process or schedule your walkthrough to discuss your project details.
